The Taylors Lakes Sporting Club oversees the Taylors Lakes Basketball, Cricket, Football and Tennis Clubs.
At their next AGM, the role of Treasurer will become vacant.
There are no formal requirements needed to be a Committee member of the Sporting Club other than being a member of one of our clubs and having a desire to see the clubs provide the best services we can to our members and our community.
All committee positions are Voluntary and are for a 2-year term.
The roles are oversight only as the individual club committees and volunteers do their own treasury work. The Sporting Club’s major role is to ensure the governance and compliance requirements are met, long term planning is undertaken and consistently monitored, background issues are looked after and clubs are being managed appropriately.
Anyone who may be interested or able to assist is asked to reach out as soon as possible to discuss details of the role and to undertake a handover transition while the current Treasurer, Wendy, is still with the club.
Although a background in accounting, bookkeeping or similar would be highly desirable in the Treasurer’s role, it is not mandatory. The occupant only needs to be over 18. The role is based on the QuickBooks programme and involves a few hours a week and one meeting a month.
In addition, there will be vacancies on the general committee for people who want to be involved in growing and developing our clubs.
